Cornucopia – Crystal Composition

A resin composition that translates the mythological symbol of the cornucopia – from Greek legend – into abstract form. On a 40 × 30 cm surface (5 cm deep), chrysocolla, agate, rock crystal, opal, moonstone, gold, and quartz combine to create a richly colored composition of blue, yellow, and gold tones.

The cornucopia, a symbol of wealth and harvest in Greek mythology, is not depicted here in an illustrative way, but interpreted as a flow of color: a diagonal gradient from deep blue through luminous turquoise to warm gold suggests movement and abundance. The three-dimensional depth of 5 cm creates a sculptural presence, enhanced by the embedded crystals that emerge from the resin surface as points of light.
The minerals used originate from diverse geological contexts: chrysocolla from copper deposits, agate from volcanic rocks, and rock crystal and quartz from local sources. There is no symbolic charge, but rather a contemporary interpretation of mythological iconography through mineral materiality.
