Aquamarine specimen with crystal decoration on both sides – Erongo, Namibia
An exceptional aquamarine specimen from the legendary Erongo region in Namibia. This collector's item displays a rare "floating" formation – the aquamarine crystals have grown on both sides of the feldspar rock.
Mineralogical features
The light blue to transparent aquamarine crystals sit on a matrix of feldspar. This mineral combination is typical of the pegmatite deposits of the Erongo Mountains and makes each specimen a geological unique.
Particularly noteworthy is the double-sided crystal arrangement ("floating") – the crystals grow freely from both sides of the matrix, without a solid backing. This allows for a spectacular 360° view and makes the piece an ideal collector's item.
Tourmaline accent
A separate black tourmaline crystal point accentuates the composition and forms an elegant contrast to the bright aquamarine crystals.
The tourmaline exhibits typical glassy luster and gives the step additional visual depth.
Location found: Erongo Mountains, Karibib, Namibia
The Erongo region is one of the world's most important sources of high-quality aquamarines. The combination of excellent crystal quality, double-sided crystal formation, and characteristic accompanying minerals makes this specimen a premium collector's item.
